Hello again everyone! Well, our first convention was a blast! We made some great new friends and saw some old ones! We ran into Ed , our UACC’s Regional Director and I hadn’t seen him in a while. We tried to recall when it was and I believe the last time I saw him was while we were both trying for autographs at the BIG E. It was good to see him again. We also had some previous customers come by and make themselves known and that is always a great treat. As stated, it was a blast from beginning to end.

The funny thing is, we didn’t bring a camera, only our camcorder, and I had every intention of taking digital stills of our booth but we stayed so busy it slipped my mind. I’m sure we’ll find some on the net or if you are reading this and have some, please email me a copy. Our custom airbrushed guitars were probably the most photographed thing at the convention with the exception of the celebrity guests, the batmobile, and that huge Jabba The Hutt. I really hope I can find a shot of our set up.

The first guitar on our table was a guitar custom painted with Darth Maul on it. It was a very attractive electric guitar with vibrant colors and a perfect image of the character played by Ray Park in Star Wars. We ended up bringing this stunning guitar up to him and having him hand sign it, signing his name and adding “DARTH MAUL 07” as well! All done on this one of a kind guitar and all videotaped for 100% rock solid proof.

The custom painted BATMOBILE 12 string guitar was a HUGE hit. Dealers, fans, and even celebrities stopped by to enjoy this stunning work of art. Jeremy Bulloch stopped in his tracks and told us about how he had been given a Boba Fett guitar in the past. The guy who was with Burt Ward (his assistant I believe) stopped to see the cost and when I went up to get it signed, he said he had hoped to try to haggle me down in price later that day, so he too wanted it, or Burt Ward did and was just too modest to admit it. In any event, the custom detailing is phenomenal, and when you see the signatures, you will absolutely die!

We were able to get perfect video footage of Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar each signing the 12-string Les Paul style electric guitar that was custom airbrushed with the batmobile on it. Julie Newmar added “Catwoman”, Burt Ward added “Robin” and Adam West not only added “Batman” but also added “To the batmobile”, significant to what he’d always say when they saw the bat signal!!!!! What a great piece of Batman memorabilia this item has become. It truly is as good as it gets. I hope to have the video footage and scans of the guitar up this week.

For those of you who didn’t make it, you missed a great show. For those of you interested in personalities, Adam West was pretty much a let down to most fans, although he was exceptionally nice to me, so I can’t complain. He was just hit or miss on doing photos with and wasn’t too approachable. I even heard he tried to charge someone extra (on top of his $50 fee) to sign a nearly complete cast signed item which is why I say he let many down with that type of attitude. Julie Newmar is a doll and was extremely gracious to all fans as far as I saw, allowing photos with her including her putting her hand on yours, etc. Burt Ward was super nice to everyone I saw as well as to me, as it turns out he has the same camcorder I have, and he proceeded to talk hi-tech camera talk to me for about 5 minutes. I kept looking back at the line feeling guilty, but he was enjoying himself and I wasn’t the one doing the talking so much as him. He was great to talk to and I hope to meet up with him again. As for the rest of the line up, they all seemed too routine for me so I really didn’t bother. Jeremy Bulloch as I had stated was super friendly and walked around the show quiet often, posing for photos with those who asked. Chanel Ryan and Cathy St. George were all dolled up along with another model or two and I’m sure their fans were treated well. Turnout was great, nearly all the guests showed up, and it was a very well run show. Here are the items:
